چکیده
Climate change threatens the sustainability of agriculture and natural resources. Adaptive solutions must be designed locally with stakeholders. We developed Approach for Building Adaptation Scenarios Stakeholders (ABASS), which aims to identify adaptation policies corresponding scenarios resource management in context climate change. Its originality is combination different existing participatory methods, organized three phases. In step 1, experts local environmental problems on a map build assumption tree effects. 2, Step 3 leads construction stakeholders two First, workshop gathering numerous stakeholders, presented help potential that address effects Then, using produced each group separately translates policy into detailed scenario. applied ABASS groundwater overexploitation South India. The ‘ mainstreaming ’ approach to climate change adaptation : insights from Ethiopia ’ s water sector
There is scientific agreement in the latest report from the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC): anthropogenic climate change is already occurring and even if greenhouse gas concentrations are stabilised, global warming and sea level rises will continue for centuries – the result of climatic processes and feedbacks (Solomon et al., 2007). These changes in the Earth’s physical syst...
متن کاملDrinking water vulnerability to climate change and alternatives for adaptation in coastal South and South East Asia
Drinking water in much of Asia, particularly in coastal and rural settings, is provided by a variety of sources, which are widely distributed and frequently managed at an individual or local community level. Coastal and near-inland drinking water sources in South and South East (SSE) Asia are vulnerable to contamination by seawater, most dramatically from tropical cyclone induced storm surges. ...
